The Sangiovese grape generate the long-living, concentrated Chiantis, Supertuscans and Brunellos di Montalcino.

The vintage 1953 was in Bordeaux a good year with an average yield. The growing season was warm and sunny. Rain in september delayed the harvest for few days.
Better results comes from Médoc, the so called left bank, and its first growths Lafite Rothschild, Mouton Rothschild and Château Margaux.
But 1953 its also an exceptionnel vintage for Château Ausone and Château Cheval Blanc in Saint Emilion. Finally all depends on excellent stored bottles with very good level and healthy color.
